The beef between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks dates back to 2011, but it looks like it has finally come to an end. The two female entertainers have their fair share of differences and view points, but fortunately, they might be on their way to squashing the longstanding beef.
After Banks recently initiated talks of potential reconciliation on Twitter, the “Switch” pop star responded with a message on Snapchat talking about her issues with Banks and why she can often sympathize with the Harlem MC.

“I just want to say FYI; re A. Banks. Call me crazy but girl; I don’t hate you. I don’t know you to hate you,” Azalea wrote. “I believe you may want to meet me in person so you can steal a lock of my hair and cast a spell hoping I die (lol) I don’t agree with many of your opinions but honestly, at times I empathize with you as a creative Gemini woman. I wish you had spoken to me before deciding I was out to get you when we first came on the scene, but that’s also typical Gemini reaction shit (I get it). As a 27 year old adult woman just know: I wish you well from one human to another and joke collaboration or not as adults we should move past trivial beef with strangers.”

Following Iggy’s statement, Azealia spoke with XXL about her desire to have an open discussion with the pop star.
“I think a true reconciliation can happen once there is some acknowledgment of what hip-hop has been trying to tell her. I still don’t think she quite understands the effect her racial privilege and the socio-economic leverage that comes with it has on a marginalized group of women’s culture,” Azealia said. “Race aside, this is also a women’s issue. I hope that there will be a chance for us to have an open discussion about this, as I feel America and the world could really benefit from some candid discourse between two public figures about the world’s biggest sickness: racism. I wish for women of the future to be able to refer to this moment in women’s culture as an example of what can happen when people take time to understand.”

Iggy Azalea took the stage on James Corden’s The Late Late Show last night (June 13) for a smoky, twerk-filled live rendition of “Switch,” her new single featuring Brazilian vocal sensation Anitta. The performance (sans Anitta) comes ahead of the Aussie artist’s sophomore effort, Digital Distortion, which is now set to drop June 30 after a string of setbacks and delays.

During the Late Show episode, the “Fancy” artist also joined Jane Krakowski, Kate Mara and Lily James for a messy game of “Flinch,” where contestants do their best to keep martinis from spilling while Corden tries to make them, well, flinch.
Watch both Iggy’s performance and martini-splashing match go down in the video clips below.

Aussie rapster Iggy Azalea has both confirmed and denied elements of Page Six’s report that she’s dating NFLer Odell Beckham Jr., but the juiciest piece of gossip — that the two are together — seems to be getting brushed off as more fake news by the two of them.

Earlier this week, Page Six reported that Iggy was spotted “cozying up” to the New York Giants receiver at Bowlero Woodland Hills bowling center in Los Angeles.

While speaking with TMZ, Iggy did confirm that they were both at the bowling center and did pose in the same group photo, but she denied having any ties to Beckham, romantic or otherwise.

“I literally don’t even know Odell Beckham … He was at my friend’s party and we took pictures with a bunch of people. That’s it,” Iggy Azalea said when asked about the alleged romance.

Iggy later added that she’s never seen a Giants game before, and declared that any relationship with Beckham is “pretty far away” as paparazzi attempted to stoke the romantic flames between the two.

Iggy Azalea says her next album, “Digital Distortion,” arrives at the end of next month.

If sounds like Iggy Azalea’s upcoming Digital Distortion album is getting ready to drop next month. During a recent interview on the Zach Sang show in L.A., the Australian rapper spilled the news that her follow up to The New Classic will arrive June 30th.

“I think it’s supposed to be June 30th or 31th,” Iggy replied when asked about the release date, before later clarifying it was the 30th. And for what its worth the 30th does fall on a Friday, album release day so it does align.

The album is currently being led by the singles “Mo Bounce” & “Switch,” both of which featured bootylicious videos that dropped recently.

Iggy Azalea isn’t one to let a broken engagement get her down.

Instead of wallowing in her split last year from Nick Young, the rapper, 26, used it to fuel her empowering new music.

“When I started [writing], I think things were very lovey-dovey, and I was engaged and about to get married and in that head space,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively about the inspiration behind the songs on her upcoming LP Digital Distortion. “I had a lot of changes and a breakup and was sort of like, ‘Wow, okay. Now I’m a single woman in my mid-20s and I want to talk about other stuff now!”

Her new single “Switch” — along with several other songs on the album – were written right after she and Young called it quits. “It wasn’t that I was sad or feeling down in the dumps or feeling like I wanted to write heartbreak ballads,” she explains. “I was kind of excited about all of the things that I could do now, and I just really wanted to talk about that on my album.”

The Aussie has a “good balance of aggressively confident, ‘Screw you, I believe in me!’” songs on the album as well as “sexy jams that you want to play with your girlfriends,” she says. “It’s a good mix of both.”

Azalea’s empowerment doesn’t just come from bouncing back after a breakup, however. Over the years, she’s gained a confidence after repeatedly dealing with people who didn’t believe in her.

“I always had to be my own support system and my mom would always say ‘Fake it ’til you make it,’ so I just say, ‘You’re beautiful’ or ‘You’re the best’ even if you don’t believe it,” she says. “Eventually, you believe the words you’re saying. I like to always have those strong messages for women because we need to have as many female voices as we can telling people that.”

One of those female voices includes her pal Katy Perry, who helped write her 2014 hit “Black Widow.”

“I love Katy. I met her in 2013 and I really owe her “Black Widow,” she says of their friendship. “It wouldn’t exist without her, so she’s always been somebody I feel very indebted to and a great friend.”

Perry recently voiced her support for Azalea’s new music on Instagram, and “she doesn’t have to do that at all,” adds the rapper. “I really appreciate the ongoing support with her over the years. To me, she’s a real girl’s girl, and I love that.”

Iggy Azalea‘s “Switch” video leaked over the weekend. There is a lot to take in, from wildcats, to barely-there swimsuits, to alligator ice sculptures on leash. Unfortunately, because the video was still a work in progress when it surfaced online, the pop-rap star says she might not release it, after all.

“I just wanted to clarify for everyone saying I should put it on Vevo,” Iggy said on Snapchat. “The video is not even finished being edited yet. We had media partners and other bigger plans for the video on the right day of release. And this leaking really just ruins things for [featured vocalist] Anitta and I. So I’m really disappointed that this has happened. I don’t know if the video will come out or be released at all now. And if it does, I hope that everyone will still support it.”

“Switch,” released just days ago, was Iggy aiming for song of the summer status. With its feather-light dance production, combined with its sassy lyrics, “Switch” is clearly Iggy’s offering to pop radio, while predecessor “Mo Bounce” was better suited for the club. “Switch” also got Katy Perry‘s stamp of approval.

Iggy and Anitta had only recently wrapped the “Switch” video shoot. See Iggy talk what could have been below.
